The temperature in the Finnish sauna is between 80 and 120 °C. These high temperatures make you sweat quickly, and the radiant heat is able to penetrate the skin and reach the underlying muscle tissue.
Recommended time in the sauna
The high temperatures slowly raise your body temperature. Never sit or lie down for longer than your body can safely handle; this differs per person and depends on perspiration, body weight, sauna and sports experience and your hormones.
We recommend at least 8 minutes for effective warming up, up to a maximum of 15 minutes. Experienced sauna lovers can safely stay for 20 minutes; the average is 12 minutes. After your sauna session we recommend taking a cold shower.
